The Met Gala red carpet is over and celebrities, fashion designers, artists and philanthropists are inside the Metropolitan museum taking in this year’s exhibition, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style. The gala portion is actually a fundraiser for the Costume Institute (the museum wing funds itself), and this year it raised the most money in its history: a record $31 million.
