Why I'm obsessed with 'the feminine urge' meme 💗

All around the motu change is afoot, but nowhere more so than those places - like our base of Tāmaki Makaurau - that are about to become 'red zoned'. Get your Squid Games meme out of the way, then ensure your vaccine pass is downloaded and ready to display for minimal fuss (and get yourself a snazzy new mask).
It's no secret that some businesses are choosing not to open under a red light system, while for some consumers, a great sense of relief is felt knowing you can visit a hairdresser or yoga studio knowing your values are aligned with those you are spending money with.
It can be hard to publicly take a stand though. We know that we lose followers whenever we post a pro-vax message to Instagram. But we also believe it's important we know the stance of those people and businesses that we choose to support - after all, every dollar spent these days is a competitive vote for the world you want to live in. (Many of you agree, with 87% saying yes, businesses should disclose if they support vaccinations, in a very scientific Instagram poll we ran on Super Saturday).
But we also understand business is tough and some can't afford customer alienation in the current climate. Which is why we were so excited to read Sherry Zhang's thoughtful piece on how those in 'influential' positions - influencers, and businesses - are impacted by their open and vocal pro-vaccine stance. Click here to read her piece.
Until next week, we are excited to eat, drink and be merry (you can find some Auckland food spot inspiration here). We are not excited to clean our house to welcome people into it.
